The Annual Dummett Cousins Reunion will be held in the town park on July 16. The event this year will honor the late Wm. Dummett on the 100th anniversary of his being the first white settler in Franklin Township.
Stanley Yates of the Dept. of Exhibits of the Library, Iowa State University at Ames, was in Sanborn July 5 to record a taped interview with Rex Beresford covering the latter’s more than 50 years’ work in extension education in the livestock field.
One of the last 38 elm trees removed from town property the past week because of Dutch Elm disease was a familiar sight at the corner of the funeral home, came down Monday afternoon.

The Community Center continues to take on a new look as remodeling progresses on the front with a new wall and windows.
Laura Reitsma will leave Thursday for basic training in the National Guard at Fort Leonard Wood, MO…She is a graduate of Western Christian High School.
Scott Roelfs left Friday for a one week SERVE project in London, Ontario, Canada.
