Two-vehicle collision results in minor injuries
Minor injuries were suffered by both drivers in a collision involving a pair of vehicles two miles east of Sheldon.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s office reported that shortly before 5:00 p.m. on March 6 a 2001 Ford F-150 driven by Jonathan Kenneth Rozeboom, age 26 of Sheldon, was westbound on Highway 18. The vehicle was being followed by a 2011 Chevy Tahoe driven by Renee Margaret Sterler, age 52 of Sanborn. Rozeboom slowed down to turn left (south) onto Oak Hill Avenue. Sterler started to overtake the F-150 on the left side, striking the driver’s side. The Rozeboom pickup came to rest in the southwest corner of the intersection just into the ditch. Sterler’s Tahoe came to rest west of the intersection on the south shoulder of Highway 18.
Both Rozeboom and Sterler were transported by Sheldon Ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Hospital with suspected minor/non-incapacitating injuries. Sterler’s Tahoe sustained an estimated $15,000 in damages. The damage to the Rozeboom Ford was estimated at $5,000.
