Dorothy Chrisman, Editor and Publisher of The Sanborn Pioneer, was the recipient of the news media award at the District American Legion Convention held in Sibley Saturday.
Notice is given by the City of Sanborn this week that garbage collection will go to a twice weekly schedule starting May 1.
Pictured in this issue was the exterior finishing work on the new medical center.
Pictured this week was the Sanborn Grain Company’s new elevator which has reached the first plateau of 130 feet. The head house will extend approximately 56 feet from that.
This was National Secretary’s Week and Sanborn business personnel were pictured in an advertisement. The secretaries were honored by their businesses with a luncheon at Jay’s Restaurant.
Prins Real Estate announces the sale of the Tom Borden property on West 4th Street to Jim Messessen, an employee of Dugan Transport.

Gerald Buren was honored with a certificate for his 50 years of membership in the American Legion.
The Friendly Twelve Birthday Club celebrated their 45th anniversary with a luncheon held April 13 at the Country Club…The Club began in January 1954 with ladies living on farms in the northeast farm area of Sanborn.
