Randy and Candace Lyman were Mother’s Day lunch guests of Chad and Rhonda Lyman. Additional guests were Lorn and Joan Wills and family and Jayden Lyman who was home for the weekend. Morgan Lyman and friend Tanner were unable to come because of their work schedule.
The Crazy 8 Card Club met Friday at Jay’s Restaurant & Lounge for lunch and cards. Donna Fell was high scorer, Linda Rozeboom was low. Debbie Raymond and Linda Strubbe substituted for Ronda Pry and Shirley Mulder.
Mike Rozeboom and Danielle of Sioux Falls, SD were Sunday lunch guests of Linda Rozeboom.
Jim Carney, son of Lindy Buren, was discharged from the Sioux Falls hospital a week ago and also discharged from his back surgeon while he was in Sioux Falls. His back brace has also been removed. They are grateful for the Prayer Chain prayers and all the prayers that were said in his behalf.
The “girls” from Sanborn High School Class of 1963 met for lunch at Jay’s Restaurant & Lounge on Tuesday, May 7. Present were Gayle Vander Woude, Linda Rozeboom, Arlene Frerichs of Lake Park, Jacque Comstock, Andy Cardin and her sister, Melanie Truitt of Sheldon. Judy McQueen was unable to attend.
Shari Pyle of Sioux Falls spent some time Sunday afternoon with her mother Harriet Van Veldhuizen and aunt Jeane Van Veldhuizen at Prairie View Manor.
Last Friday Troy Salazar and April arrived at the home of their parents, Jose and Carol Salazar. They came especially to attend the graduation party in honor of Jose and Carol’s grandson, Alic Salazar in Rock Valley on Saturday. Alic graduated from high school Tuesday and is enrolled at Northwestern University for the fall term beginning in August.
Brian and Betheny Buren entertained at a Mother’s Day supper for their family and Keith and Nancy Iverson.
Curt Carlson of Emmetsburg, Stan Carlson of Iowa City, and Tim Carlson of Cedar Falls came Sunday to visit their mother, Donna Fell. They came in time to attend the worship service at St. John’’ Lutheran Church with her. This was Pastor Bangert’s farewell service as he has accepted a call to a Lutheran dual parish in Michigan.
Charlotte Dasen had a busy week. Mark Noll of Iowa Falls came last week Wednesday to visit Jeff Dasen, her house guest, and other friends in Sanborn and was an overnight guest in her home. Charlie and Marilyn Schroeck of Arnolds Park visited her on Friday on Charlotte’s 92nd birthday. On Saturday Esther D’Agrosa of Boyden and Anna and Pete D’Agrosa of Long Island, NY came. Cathy Gray of Rochester, MN came Saturday and was an overnight guest. On Sunday Jerry Gray and Brian of Rochester, came for the day. Esther D’Agrosa was an additional Mother’s Day dinner guest.
Jeff Dasen of Scottsdale, AZ left Monday morning after visiting his mother for the past three weeks.
Larry and Fran Peelen enjoyed a delicious Lunch-Brunch at the Hospers Community Building in Hospers for Mother’s Day. The Peelens were surprised to learn Leonard and Lavonne Block were seated at their table. The Peelens and Blocks enjoyed a good visit, catching up on each other’s lives. Lavonne asked the Peelens to come to their home to select some history books of Sioux County that she was getting rid of. Larry found several books of interest.
