On Saturday Sylvia Andringa’s son, Jim Andringa of Fairmont, MN came to visit her. Saturday evening George and Helen Andringa of Bettendorf came to visit her and took her and Lois Hakeman to the Sanborn Country Club for supper. Sunday afternoon and lunch guests were George and Helen Andringa, Lois Hakeman, Bob and Nella Seivert of Harlan, and Riley and Shelby Partridge of North Liberty. Later, Ed and Joleen Greving of Estherville came to visit along with their daughter, Lori Watson of Sheldon.
Jim and Becky Suckow left last week Tuesday, May 14, to visit their daughter, Amy Suckow at Eden Prairie, MN. They returned home this week Monday.
Kim Eliker and Ryker of Lincoln, NE spent the weekend in the Randy and Candice Lyman home. They came especially to attend graduation parties.
Jayden Lyman spent the weekend in the Chad and Rhonda Lyman home.
Bob Ellett of Iowa City was in Sanborn last week and stopped in to visit his old neighbor, Charlotte Dasen on Thursday.
Linda Rozeboom, Glenda Miller and Lisa Smith celebrated Charlotte Dasen’s birthday with her last week Thursday. They enjoyed a carry-in dinner from Jay’s Restaurant.
Weekend guests in the Jack and Carol Elgersma home were Alissa, Chloe, Ellie, and Jace Holland of Buffalo Center. Joining them on Friday evening and Saturday were Brandi, Mace, Jack and Kennedy Wright of Sanborn.
Harriett Van Veldhuizen went to Sioux Falls, SD last Friday to attend the Dance Recital of her granddaughter, Anna Pyle at the Washington Pavilion on Friday night. On the way she stopped at Fieldcrest in Sheldon to visit Hazel Kuiper’s Happy 103rd Birthday. After the recital she was an overnight guest in the home of her daughter, Shari Pyle. Saturday morning Harriet’s daughter, Diane McKee and cousin Mildred Blankers met them at a restaurant for breakfast. Later Harriet and Shari went to Sioux Falls’ “Butterfly House.” On the way home Harriet stopped at Premier Estates in Rock Rapids to visit Wilma Moser.
Lee and Susie Van Tol attended a graduation party for their great-grandson, Dallas Bouma held in the home of Justin and Karla Van Tol in Sheldon Saturday afternoon. They later met their nephew, Stan Vanden Berg of Wichita, KS at the Pizza Ranch in Sheldon.
Lee and Susie Van Tol were Sunday dinner guests in the home of Mike and Judy Visser along with Steve and Helen Vanden Berg of Sheldon, and Stan Vanden Berg of Witchita, KS. Stan is a retired Minister. They all attended morning church services together at Sanborn Christian Reformed Church.
The Don Browers hosted a graduation party for Keyanna on May 4 at Locomotion Lanes in Sanborn. It was attended by family and friends.
Gavin Faulkner was honored at a graduation party held at the Vander Haag Museum Sunday afternoon hosted by his mother, Marie Rohrs. Special guests were his aunt Karen and daughter Lillian Lauesen of Sioux Falls, SD, Noel and Sandy Johnson of Denison, and Keith and Lynn Rohrs and Barb Pry of Sanborn. Approximately 50 guests attended from Sanborn.
Jenna Buren was honored by her parents, Brian and Betheny Buren on Saturday with a graduation party at their home. Guests were grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
