Alma’s Beauty Shop has two new hair stylists on duty. They are Mary Gathman of Hartley and Shirley Beltman of Hospers.
Michael Tinker left for Switzerland Wednesday for an advanced course for T.M. (Transcendental Meditation). He will be gone for six weeks.

The Sanborn Municipal Light Plant Board of Trustees has agreed to sponsor inoculations of trees in the city park to hopefully prevent further loss from Dutch Elm Disease.
Sanborn Police Chief Larry Hook submitted his resignation effective at 5 p.m. Friday. According to Mr. Hook he felt that he was unable to work effectively with the mayor and council. The mayor felt that he was unable to work effectively with Mr. Hook.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at the Sheldon Catholic cemetery for James A. Wilson… Mr. Wilson died May 8 at the age of 70 years. He was publisher of the Sanborn Pioneer for many years as well as other northwest Iowa newspapers.
Three instrumentalists from the HMS Middle School have earned spots in the Iowa Bandmasters Association Middle School Honor Band. They are Caleb Funke, Kari Luenberger and Kent Wallinga.
