ORDINANCE NO. 231
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SANBORN, IOWA, BY AMENDING CHAPTER 27: PARK AND RECREATION BOARD, SECTION 27.02: ORGANIZATION
BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Sanborn, Iowa:
SECTION 1. SECTION MODIFIED. Section 27.02 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Sanborn, Iowa, is repealed and the following adopted in lieu thereof:
27.02 ORGANIZATION. The Board shall consist of seven members, all residents of the City, appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council, for overlapping terms of five years. The Board shall choose its Chairperson and Vice Chairperson every two years. Members shall serve without compensation, but may receive their actual expenses. Vacancies shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointment.
SECTION 2. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. If any section, provision, or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 3. WHEN EFFECTIVE. This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final passage, approval, and publication as provided by law.
