Notice is given that Sanborn Municipal Utilities, Sanborn, Iowa, pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 478, has filed a petition with the Iowa Utilities Board (IUB) for a franchise to erect, maintain and operate an electric transmission line setting forth the following as the maximum voltage, starting points, routes, and termini of the existing line:

O’Brien County, Iowa
The east endpoint/terminus of this line is an interconnection point with a Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative substation located in the NW ¼ NE ¼ of Section 9, Township 96 North, Range 40 West of the 5th P.M., O’Brien County, Iowa. The west endpoint of this line is a connection point with an existing Sanborn Municipal Utilities transmission line located in the NE ¼ SE ¼ of Section 35, Township 97 North, Range 41 West of the 5th P.M., O’Brien County, Iowa. The west terminus of this line is an interconnection point with a Sanborn Municipal Utilities substation located in the NE ¼ SW ¼ of Section 35, Township 97 North, Range 41 West, within the corporate limits of Sanborn, O’Brien County, Iowa. Beginning at a point of interconnection to Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative’s substation, being the east terminus/endpoint, located in the NW ¼ NE ¼ of Section 9, Township 96 North, Range 40 West of the 5th P.M, O’Brien County, Iowa, thence north on private right-of-way adjacent to the north-south centerline of Sections 9 and 4, of said Township and Range, crossing 340th Street, to the north quarter corner of said Section 4, approximately 0.98 mile; thence continuing north on private right-of-way in the SE ¼ SW ¼ of Section 33, Township 97 North, Range 40 West, adjacent to the north-south centerline of said section, crossing 330th Street, approximately 0.50 mile to a point on the east-west center line of Section 33; thence west on private right-of-way in the SE ¼ NW ¼ of Section 33 adjacent to the east-west center line of Sections 33, 32, and 31, of said Township and Range, to a point on the west section line of Section 31, of said Township and Range, crossing Starling Avenue, Sorrel Avenue, and Highway 59/Silver Avenue, approximately 2.50 miles; thence continuing west on private right-of-way in the SE ¼ NE ¼ of Section 36 adjacent to the east-west centerline of Section 36, Township 97 North, Range 41 West of the 5th P.M., crossing the east half of Roosevelt Avenue, approximately 1.00 mile to the corporate limits of the city of Sanborn, Iowa. The total distance of this transmission line to be franchised in O’Brien County is approximately 4.98 miles.
