Century Mutual Insurance Association holds its 32nd Annual Firemen’s Golf Benefit
On Wednesday, July 17, Century Mutual Insurance Association, a Northwest Iowa farm and residential insurance company, held its Annual Firemen’s Golf Benefit Tournament. This year’s event was held at the Sanborn Golf & Country Club in Sanborn. Century Mutual sponsors the event with all entry fees from the teams being distributed to the fire department of their choice.
Golf started at 9:30 a.m. with 96 golfers comprising 24 teams teeing off.
The annual event is an 18-hole tournament which is held to benefit the local area volunteer fire departments. This year’s event raised $5,876 for the local departments, which will be split among 14 local fire departments.
Sanborn/Hartley Funeral Homes, Sanborn Savings Bank, Iowa State Bank, DLVV Trucking and Van-Hof Trucking all sponsored teams for the Sanborn Fire Department.
The winning team was sponsored by Prins Plumbing & Heating of Hartley with a score of 60 strokes. A putting contest, coffee, doughnuts, lunch, refreshments, and prizes were also part of the day’s events.
