Kim Eliker and Ryker of Lincoln, NE, and Morgan and Jayden Lyman, were Railroad Days visitors of Randy and Candice Lyman.
Lindy Buren’s daughter, Krista Ewoldt of Georgia, came to spend the week. Lindy’s grandson, Cayle, is getting married this weekend.
Weekend guests in the Jack and Carol Elgersma home were Alissa, Taylen, Ellie and Jase Holland of Buffalo Center. Joining them were Brandi, Maci, Jack and Kennedy Wright of Sanborn.
Guests in the Lee Van Tol home for Railroad Days were Don and Jackie Vander Zee and their five children, all from the Chicago area, Crystal and Dwaye Allgyers; Kyle and Nicole Vander Zee; Kayla Maddel, Chad and Jenna Vos; Garret and Sarah Vos, plus nine great-grandchildren. They took part in the 5K Run and also the Sand Volleyball game. They had a fun weekend. Justin and Karla stopped in Sunday and Sam and Nancy Vanden Berg were also Sunday dinner guests as were Mike and Judy Visser, and Justin and Mandy Hoekstra and family of Hull.
Jim Dasen of Cedar Rapids, arrived last week Tuesday, and Jeff Dasen of Scottsdale, AZ, arrived last week Wednesday for a visit in the home of Charlotte Dasen. Joining over the weekend were Cathy, Jerry and Brian Gray of Rochester, MN, and Theresa and Drew Zafft, Hannah and Conner of Hayfield, MN. Stopping to visit were Bill Postma and Joel Gibbons. Charlotte hosted a picnic following the parade on Saturday with additional guests Jess Horstman of Keystone Heights, FL, Esther D’Agrosa of Boyden, Anna D’Agrosa and Pete of Brooklyn, NY, Charlie and Marilyn Schroeck of Arnolds Park, Bob Ellett of Iowa City, Mary and Steve Agar of Sibley, Linda Rozeboom, Carol and Jose Salazar, Lowell Appleton, and Todd Heitritter. Jim Dasen left Monday morning. Jeff Dasen and Anita and Steve Goetz will stay for a longer visit.
Amy Horstman Ingram of Fairbanks, AK arrived July 24 for a visit in the home of her grandmother, Charlotte Dasen. While here, she also participated in a wedding in Fargo, and returned to Fairbanks on July 29.
Stevie Goetz and Sara Mustard of Fairbanks, AK returned home on July 26 after a visit with their grandmother Charlotte Dasen. Sara’s mother, Carolyn Mustard, also of Fairbanks, returned on Monday. This was her first trip to Iowa, and she enjoyed the Railroad Days festivities, and exploring small towns in the area.
Jess Horstman of Keystone Heights, FL arrived last week Thursday to visit friends and family in the area for a week.
Shelly Partridge and daughters Laken and River of West Liberty visited her grandmother, Sylvia Andringa last week Thursday. They came to Sanborn to attend Railroad Days.
Friday evening a few members of the Class of 1973, Sanborn High School got together at Jay’s Restaurant & Lounge. They included Jim Suckow and wife, Candice Lyman, Curt Carlson and wife, and Alan Buren and wife.
Family and friends that gathered together at Connie Ginger’s for Railroad Days activities were Heath, Wendy, Lacie, Luke and Bree Reitsma, Caleb, Haley and Jaxson Malenke, Cristy Ginger and Heather, Kaleb Visser, Tommy, Carter and Craig Ginger, Tammy Ginger, Pam Prine and Rose Sogn. The group also celebrated Carter’s High School Graduation with a supper Saturday Night.
