CORRECTION: Larry and Fran Peelen had visitors from Ottawa, KS on July 31: Russ and Sandy Sylvester and Gary and Karen Walburn. John and Ruth Vander Haag joined them for lunch and visiting. The Kansas visitors came to view items that John had purchased on the Sylvester Estate Auction, especially a truck.
Sunday dinner guests in the Jim and Becky Suckow home were Pastor Keith and Shirley Christiansen.
The Crazy 8 card club met at Jay’s Restaurant & Lounge Friday for lunch and then played eight games of 500. Ardis Dummett was high scorer, Ruth Hanno was second and Donna Fell was low.
Linda Rozeboom went to Jack Sand’s first birthday party last week at his home in Sioux Falls. It was hosted by his parents, Mitch and Kara Sand. Also attending from Sanborn were Jack’s great-grandma Darleen Lode, Grandpa Rick Maranell, great-uncle Bob Maranell, and great-aunt Lisa Lode. Also attending were many other grandparents, relatives and friends.
Ray Huibregtse and Tim and Beth Carlson stopped at Douma Park Sunday to visit with Sherryl Tressler who was camped there. They were impressed with the improvements to Douma Park.
Saturday Linda Rozeboom visited in the home of Mike Rozeboom and Danielle at Sioux Falls, SD.
Last week Friday Jose and Carol Salazar traveled to Rock Valley to help celebrate great-grandson Scottie Allen’s first birthday. The party was held at the home of Grandma Nicole with approximately 30 guests in attendance. It was an outdoor barbecue and the food and visit were great. Scottie received many nice gifts.
Charlotte Dasen had a busy week of enjoying company. Shelly Sommers visited in the Dasen home last week Tuesday. She had picked up Anita Goetz at the airport and drove her to Sanborn. Jim Dasen of Cedar Rapids came Wednesday and visited until Sunday in the Dasen home. Kirk Warnke of Manson visited Thursday and Joel Gibbons stopped in later in the day, both to see her house guest, Anita Goetz. Esther D’Agrosa of Boyden was a dinner guest Friday in the Dasen home. Anita Goetz of Fairbanks, AK left by plane from Sioux Falls Saturday after visiting for a few weeks in the parental Charlotte Dasen home. Jeff Dasen of Scottsdale, AZ will be visiting the rest of this week.
Visitors from Lakewood, CA in the Larry and Fran Peelen home were Jeff and Kathleen Lannise. The Lannises are attending motor home rallies and visiting friends and relatives on their way to Minneapolis to visit Kathleen’s step daughter. Tim and Wendy Peelen, Lyle Peelen of Sibley and David Peelen of Arnolds Park joined the Larry Peelens and Lannises for lunch Sunday noon at a restaurant in Sibley. David has sold his Arnolds Park home and is moving to Minneapolis to be near his daughter and her family.
