The Sanborn Community School is offering 10 classes in the Fall Schedule for adults.
The 4-H educational presentation team which represented O’Brien County in the district contest won a blue ribbon. The team members were Kathy Wachtel and Jana Pry of Sanborn. The presentation was “Stalking the Good Life of Iowa.”
Merle Vander Woude suffered severe burns on his left leg while working at the D.X. Station Thursday. He accidentally spilled gasoline on his pant leg and when walking by the water heater the fumes were ignited by the pilot light…After treatment he has been confined to home but plans to go back to work next week.

This is Homecoming Week. The 1999 King and Queen candidates are Nick Postma, Ethanie Wallinga, Karmen Smith, Nicholas Sampson, Jeremy Hilbert, Shane Elgersma, Ashley Graves, Sarah Brawner, Angie Hengeveld and Seth Hobson.
Certified enrollment figures that showed a decrease of 20 students from the previous school year were reviewed by the school board at their regular meeting September 20. The tentative data shows 922 students for the 1999-2000 school year.
