The first snow fell last Friday night, Oct. 1. The first day of autumn was only a week earlier.
The Fire Department had five calls…On September 25 the fire department was called to the Allen Vander Veen farm for a grass fire…On October 27 it was called to the Rick Vogelaar farm for a grass fire…On September 30 it was called to a combine fire…Lowell Appleton was combining beans when his combine started on fire…On October 3 the department was called to a house fire at the Mike Olson residence…On October 4 the department was called for Mutual Aid to Assist the Primghar Fire Department will a garage fire.
