Sutherland and Paullina City Councils approved a burn bans in their respective communities at their regular City Council meetings, both held Monday October 7. Fire Chiefs for each community requested the burn bans. On Tuesday October 8, the O’Brien County Supervisors considered requested a burn ban from the State Fire Marshall’s office for the unincorporated areas of O’Brien County. Requests for the ban came from “several of the fire departments. The ban became effective at 5:00pm Tuesday October 8 and received complete support for the board.
