With hope in her heart and the steering wheel in her hands, Joanne Andersen ventured to the north last week Thursday, destination Isanti, MN. She arrived safely at the home of her son, Peter and Omuma, his wife, in time to celebrate with granddaughter, Belle on her birthday. The world has been notified that there is a teenager with all the trimmings in this house. Friday morning, the wilds of the Twin Cities road system were once again traveled as Joanne journeyed on to the next stop, Mankato, MN. Joanne met up with her daughter, Athena, and family: husband Wade, and son, Gavin who traveled from Sioux Falls to attend performances of Cabaret at Minnesota State University. One of the students learning and acting in Cabaret was Athena’s daughter, Brooklyn. This group of students gave a marvelous performance, aided by the students doing supporting work involved with the production. Following the second chance to see the show Saturday afternoon, Joanne returned home. She was glad it wasn’t a dark and stormy night because the Tsuchinshan ATLAS comet was brightly visible after sunset in the western sky as she drove home.
