Senator Evans elected assistant majority leader
Senator Lynn Evans, R-Aurelia, was elected November 12 as an assistant majority leader by his colleagues for the 91st General Assembly.
“I am honored to be chosen by my fellow Republican senators as an assistant majority leader,” said Senator Evans. “My first two years in office were marked by some impressive accomplishments, and my goal is to continue that work and assist our caucus as we start looking forward to the 2025 legislative session and the work Iowans sent us there to do.”
Senator Carrie Koelker, R-Dyersville, Senator Adrian Dickey, R-Packwood, and Senator Tim Kraayenbrink, R-Fort Dodge, were also elected as assistant majority leaders.
Evans was first elected to the Iowa Senate in 2022. He spent his career in education, including as superintendent of four different school districts in northwest Iowa. Senator Evans served on the Education, Judiciary, Ethics, Health and Human Services, and Natural Resources and Environment committees.
