Keyanna Brower takes gold medal in Special Olympics State Bowling Competition

Sanborn is home to a gold medal winner. Keyanna Brower claimed the hardware November 22 by finishing first in her division at the Special Olympics State Bowling Competition held at Omaha’s Maplewood Lanes.
Brower, representing the Village Northwest Unlimited Panthers, bowled games of 122 and 187 for a 309 total at the 36-lane facility. “I had the time of my life,” said Keyanna. “It was a one-of-a-kind moment.”
To even have the opportunity to bowl at State, Brower needed to place first in the Special Olympics area bowling competition held October 1 at Sioux City.
Keyanna is relatively new to bowling. The 2024 graduate bowled her junior and senior years in high school as part of the fledgling Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn bowling program. She spends two days a week at VNU and enjoys the experience and her time with Village Panther coaches Deb Middle and Sara Wolthuizen.
