Omwenga awarded the Nancy Van Bruggen Memorial Scholarship
Hyline Omwenga of Sanborn joins Ongbe Ble of Sheldon as a recipient of the Nancy Van Bruggen Memorial Scholarship awarded by the Northwest Iowa Community College Foundation. These are $1,400 scholarships. Both students are in the Nursing program at the Sheldon college.
The purpose of the Nancy Van Bruggen Memorial Scholarship is to remember the life of Nancy Van Bruggen. This scholarship was created by Nancy’s husband, Art, who was an alumnus of NCC. He hopes this scholarship enables future nursing students to lead with the same type of selflessness and compassion that Nancy had, which she demonstrated endlessly with the care of their son, Aaron, who was born with significant birth defects.
