Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn’s tight basketball game with Remsen St. Mary’s abruptly turned into anything but. HMS was within a point at 11-10 early in the second quarter. St. Mary’s then went on a 21-6 run to close out the half on the way to a 59-29 War Eagle Conference win December 20 at Hartley. The loss dropped HMS to 0-3 in the conference and 1-7 in all games as the team headed into the Christmas break.
Unofficial scoring totals showed HMS getting 11 points from Caden Douma, seven from Jayden Leth, six from Isaac Schierholz and five from Jackson Vogt. No other stats were available.
HMS resumes play on Tuesday, January 7 with a conference game against George-Little Rock at George.
