Sunshine fell on a blanket of new fallen snow Tuesday morning but it was having trouble warming things up. The air temperature was cold enough but but northwest winds made it feel like 25 degrees below zero. A warmup during the week only served to usher in an expected return to the deep freeze for the weekend.
