Donald R. McCarty of rural Sanborn is among the 40 students throughout the United States to win 1975 Explorative Scholarships.
At the final State Contest for Bands, Orchestra and Chorus groups held at Spencer Friday and Saturday, the Sanborn High School received a I rating and the Sanborn Girls Chorus and Band received II ratings.
Kenneth Sampson was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Sanborn Savings Bank.

Brian and Cindy Koldenhoven, new owners of Sanborn Body Shop, are hosting open house from 9-noon on May 3 in the new location on First Street.
Western Christian High School in Hull will be hosting an 80th birthday celebration May 17 with open house at the school from 5-7 p.m.
