Correction from last week: Brian and Jenna Buren hosted a Mother’s Day BBQ supper Sunday. Guests were Keith and Nancy Iverson, Karen Buren, Chase and Amber Vermeer and family of Orange City, and Caleb and Shania Buren and family of Marcus.
Roger and Beverly Brower of Sioux City stopped to visit Harriet Van Veldhuizen on Friday. They enjoyed noon lunch at Jay’s Restaurant & Lounge and were joined by Roger’s cousin, Galen and Nancy Beyer.
Cedar Rapids Community Theater tickets were a Christmas gift for Joanne Andersen. She was joined at the theater by the gifters, April and Ryan on Saturday, May 10 at a performance of Hairspray. Colorful, hilarious and well done, they agree.
Friday afternoon Harriet Van Veldhuizen and Nancy Van Dyke went to Sioux Falls to attend the evening Baleraena Dance Studio recital called “That’s All Folks” based on many Disney songs and held at the Washington Pavilion. Harriet’s granddaughter, Anna Pyle, took part in several of the 75 dances and also did her Senior Solo. Before the recital they shared a meal with two of Harriet’s other daughters: Shari Pyle and Diane McKee and her daughter, Katie Leslie, all of Sioux Falls. Harriet and Nancy were overnight guests in the McKee home.
Linda Rozeboom’s sister Donna and husband, Don Olson of Sioux City visited her Thursday afternoon.
Glenda Schirmer and Linda Rozeboom had lunch last week Monday with Charlotte Dasen and her house guest, son Jeff Dasen. Jeff left on Saturday to return home to Scottsdale, AZ.
Randy and Candace Lyman spent the weekend in the Swede Eliker home at Lincoln, NE to complete putting up the basketball hoop for Ryker. Chad, Rhonda and Jayden Lyman went with them.
