To comply with citizen participation requirements, pursuant to the requirements of Section 508 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1987, as amended, the Sanborn City Council will hold a public hearing on July 14, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Sanborn City Hall 102 Main Street, Sanborn, Iowa 51248. The City of Sanborn intends to submit a Community Facilities and Services Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application on behalf of subrecipient Kids Express Daycare to the Iowa Economic Development Authority. The City will apply for $600,000 on behalf of Kids Express Daycare. Kids Express proposed project is for the renovation and improvements of a 6,000 sq. ft. wing of the Prairie View Campus building located at 610 Eastern Street, Sanborn, Iowa, for a new daycare facility serving more children than it can accommodate at its current facility. The proposed cost of the project is $1,000,000. It’s estimated 62% of the beneficiaries of this project are considered low-to-moderate-income (LMI) and $372,000 of the CDBG funds will benefit LMI persons. Kids Express Daycare will provide any local match funds for this project.
