The Sanborn Funeral Home began the remodeling of the building this week. Plans are to enlarge the front entry and construct a wall of brick and stained glass along the east side of the building. Another noteworthy improvement in the making.
Fire of undetermined origin destroyed one of the restrooms at Douma Park late Monday afternoon. The fire was extinguished by the Sanborn Fire Department…Monday evening the Fire Department answered a call which proved to be a grass fire along the Milwaukee right-of-way south of the cemetery.
Ben Kamphoff, Sheldon, and son Dennis have purchased the Hiway Grocery and Service from Mr. and Mrs. Willis Petrich.

Don Gorsett scored a hole-in-one during the 2-Man Scramble tournament at Sanborn Golf & Country Club on Sun., April 21. He aced the 114 yard par three 7th hole with a 7-iron.
Pinewood Derby winners of the Cadet Club of Cornerstone Orthodox Reformed Church on April 17 were Brent Vander Werff, best show car; Craig Mastbergen, 1st place; Matt Hartog, second place; Kevin Hofman, third place.
“Clean Up Sanborn Days” will be held May 7 and 8.
