Emma Nehring, granddaughter of Barb Pry, was honored recently with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Barb said that she could not be more proud of Emma. The DAISY Award is an international recognition program to celebrate and recognize nurses who go above and beyond, making a profound difference in the lives of patients and families. Nominations for the Award are made by patients, families, and co-workers.
Great River Health had this to say. “We’re thrilled to honor Emma Nehring, RN, in the Women & Family Center at our West Burlington Campus, with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses! Emma is the embodiment of compassion and care as she went above and beyond for a patient whose baby was stillborn. Emma provided constant support, offering comfort and understanding during the most difficult time. Her thoughtful gesture of creating molds of the baby’s feet and hands provided the grieving mother with a tangible memory of her child. ‘I now have a memory of my baby girl and Emma, and treasure both,’ wrote the patient.
