HMS Middle School holds Science Fair


A Science Fair was presented at Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Middle School on Friday, December 13 in the gym. Sixth and Seventh Grade students presented their Science Fair projects during the morning. There were two sessions of students with judging being done during each session.
Students moving on to the State Science Fair in Ames on March 27th and 28th include:
7th grade projects
Keegan Van Roekel – What color do bees like best?
Dalton Van Es – Do different soils affect plant growth/
Kaiden Korselman – What dirt bike air filter has the best airflow?
Arilyn Benz/Derrica Van Loon – Which liquid grows peas faster?
Madison Fritz/Ellisyn Scroggin – Do household items clean shoes better than store bought products?
6th grade projects include:
Hoyt Ahrenstorff/ Garrison Tewes – What is the best bait to catch mice with?
Eryn Schierholz/Ellie Vogt – How does height affect the heart after exercise?
Kate Carlin – What phone cleaner is the best?
Hayden Benz/Kalvin Sadler – What hybrid of corn emerges the fastest?
