Vocal and instrumental music students from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn high school participated in the Class 1A State Large Group Contest at Newell-Fonda High School in Newell on May 7. The band performed Leaning on the Everlasting Arms and Moscow, 1941 and earned a Division I rating. The choir received a Division II rating for their performance of Dreams of Thee and Goin’ to the Holy City. Their directors are Corgan Petersen (band) and Kristi Wingert (choir).
