The O’Brien County Conference Board last Friday named Edwin W. Brouwer of Sanborn as O’Brien County Assessor. He took office July 1 and will fill out the unexpired term of Wilbur Mills who resigned from the position this spring.
The Sanborn Junior Band made up of next year’s sixth and seventh graders, will present a summer concert July 9 at 8 p.m. at the basketball courts south of the school.
Doug Enger, son of the Larry Engers, received a fishing pole for his 5th birthday. He was pictured in this issue of The Pioneer with a big fish he caught from the Sibley sandpit.
Eighteen members of the Girls League of the First Reformed Church enjoyed an outing at Indian Hills at Mesa, NE last week Monday.

The Sanborn Chamber of Commerce is spearheading efforts to purchase a caboose to be permanently located in the City Park.
Streets have been constructed in the new Sanborn Industrial Park.
A new building for Rental Corner & Harv’s Electric has been under construction in the Sanborn Industrial Park.
Sanborn Chamber of Commerce invites you to play in our Railroad Days Band on Sat., July 22 in the City Park at 6 p.m.
