Fallen limb causes power outage

Shortly after 6:00 p.m. on May 27 a large limb of a tree located at 507 Floyd Street in Sanborn split away from its trunk. The fallen limb fell across the single phase power lines running along the alley to the south and also took down the power pole. In addition, the incident blew a couple of main fuses, causing residents in sections of the north and west parts of town to be without power for 10-15 minutes. Response of the City workers to the site of the damage was quick and the limb was cleared away from the area of the fallen power pole. Power remained out for about three hours in a three block area until the new pole was put in place.
