Robbi Hoekstra, Coordinator – College Store, Sheldon retired from Northwest Iowa Community College June 30. Hoekstra was with NCC for almost 17 years, since August 2, 2004.
Hoekstra began her career at NCC as the Assistant – College Store and in June 2018 was promoted to her current position.
Hoekstra commented, “I have enjoyed developing relationships with the students, so much that some even called me ‘Mom,’” she continued, “I have also enjoyed meeting the parents of the students that I ‘took care of’ here at NCC.”
Her advice to her NCC coworkers is “Communicate! Even if you don’t think others ‘need’ to know what’s going on, more communication is better than less.”
Hoekstra’s plans for retirement include spending time with her grandchildren, camping and traveling with her husband and “Living the Dream!”
