Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Jazz Choir director Kristi Wingert submitted a report on a busy beginning to the year:
January is the start of the jazz choir competition year. Things certainly look different this year. Iowa Lakes was so generous to host performances, along with a clinic experience with Dr. Kurt Runestad in their brand new auditorium. The jazz choir had a great experience, is working to fine tune their pieces for the Late Winter Concert, and submit a virtual recording for USD. Unfortunately, other competitions were cancelled this year.
