Remsen St. Mary’s turns away visiting HMS
Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn traveled to Remsen September 21 to take on Remsen St. Mary’s. The visitors got close in the second set, but ultimately it was St. Mary’s winning in three. The game scores were 25-11, 25-20 and 25-16. The loss dropped HMS to September 14 at Hartley. The Blackhawks’ play lived up to that mark as they finished off HMS in three games, 25-8, 25-6 and 25-9. The loss dropped HMS to 0-5 in the War Eagle Conference.
Jasmine Lux was responsible for 11 of the team’s 17 kills. She also recorded a solo block and assisted with Abby Douma on another. Elise Haack and Emily Otto each had three kills and Haack was the leader in digs with 14. Abby Kunzman added 12 digs and Kaley Pearson supplied 12 set assists. The latter was also 10-for-10 serving.
