Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn’s loss will be Central College’s gain. Recent HMS graduate Lydia Harders will now be showcasing her talents as part of the Pella school’s women’s track and field team.
Running track has always been a part of Harders’ high school experience at HMS. She has excelled to the level of being a three-time state qualifier. Joining her for this photo were HMS track coaches Kirsten Taylor and Jim Thomas.
Harders’ academic plans at Central are to major in Psychology on the pre-med track, and to minor in Spanish. She is the daughter of Brenda Harders of Hartley.
