The Hickey reunion idea all started when I got the info for Railroad Days and it asked if anyone had been a homecoming queen. My sister Jane was queen in 1945 so her four daughters organized a Hickey reunion and walked in the parade. They designed a banner and shirts for everyone to wear! Sisters Bernie, Barb and Shirley contacted all of our families and asked if they could attend. We had 17 people that were able to make it. They came from Arizona, Kansas, Oklahoma, Chicago, South Carolina, Nebraska and Iowa! We were able to share so many memories from the past. We had our picture taken in front of Grandma and Grandpa’s and Mother and Dad’s (Alvira and Francis Hickey) home! We all met up at Jay’s Restaurant and then walked to the house for the picture! Everyone loved Jays. They liked the food and the service was really great!! And they saved our tables for us when we went to take the picture. We were able to enjoy all of the events of Sanborn Railroad Days! Sanborn is still the Best!! It was an amazing get-together and we want to do it again next year!!
