Hawks can’t extend match in loss to Trinity Christian
Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn had a chance to send its War Eagle Conference volleyball match against Trinity Christian into a fifth and deciding set. The Hawks were unable to cash in on that chance as errors on the final points allowed Trinity to win the match. The Tigers’ winning scores in the contest played September 6 at Hartley were 25-20, 22-25, 25-16 and 26-24.
Kylee Schiphoff led the Hawk hitting with 12 kills. Elise Haack added four kills and also made a solo block while assisting on two others. Frankie Mohni notched 17 set assists. Reaching double digits in digs were Abigail Otto with 15, Haack with 13 and Abby Kunzman with 10. Abby Douma served up four aces and Mohni two.
