Students from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn received a pair of Division II ratings after performing January 21 at the District Large Group Speech Contest in Spencer.
Competing in the Reader’s Theater category with the entry “Happy Accident” were Jaela Anliker, Carter Dolphin, Clara Funk, Alyssa Gibbons, Ryan Grotluschen, Draven Kruse, Natalie McDaniel, Mitchel Meyers, Kade Shomaker, Ashlynn Struve and Ian Werkmeister.
Shomaker and Struve performed in the Musical Theater category with their entry, “The Story of the Phantom” from Goosebumps the Musical.
HMS Speech Coach Mark Fisher stated that he is proud of their work and appreciates the time and effort invested in the performance.
