The first spring blizzard settled over the community Monday with the typical components and the wind-chill factor below zero.
First graders of Sanborn Community School boarded the bus at 10:00 a.m. last Thursday for a trip to the Shrine Circus at Sioux City.
Six members of the Sanborn Fire Department were honored recently receiving awards for 20 years or more. They were John Mulder, Roy Tifft, Leo Anderson, Gene Watters, Vernon Bogaard, and Don Snyder.

Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Getting will observe their 70th wedding anniversary on Easter Sunday, April 22 with open house at the United Methodist Church in Sanborn.
Last week Tuesday evening the Christian Reformed Church of Sanborn accepted the bid of C.I. Hersom Construction Co. of Laurens in the amount of $316,820.00.

The Easter White Breakfast will be held Fri., April 10 at the First Reformed Church.
The Annual Spring Garage Sale Day in Sanborn is Sat., May 2.
Friends and relatives are invited to help Mrs. Gerrit (Henrietta) Roetman celebrate her 80th birthday with an open house April 18 at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church.

Something new has been added to the two Sanborn signs along Highway 18…The addition of the Railroad Days sign is a project of the Chamber of Commerce…Each year the sign will be changed to publicize Railroad Days.
Employers are reminded to make reservations for their staff for the Secretary Week Luncheon which will be held April 23 at Jay’s Restaurant.
