A strong field tested the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn girls track and field team at the Okoboji Relays held April 24 at Milford.
The meet in Okoboji is always competitive,” noted HMS head coach Kirsten Taylor. “It’s a great challenge seeing our athletes rise to compete against some of the strongest athletes in our state. Megan Otto cleared 4-8 in the high jump to finish fifth overall with a new personal best. Frankie Mohnie finished 6th in the 400 meter hurdles with a personal best time of 1:21:40. Our 4×100 meter and sprint medley relays finished sixth overall with Mohni, Payton Diehm, Moriah Otto and Abby Otto. Our distance medley also finished sixth with Evelyn Steffen, Pam Mutumbo, Kam Ebel and Jocelyn Abonce.”
