The Knights of Columbus have done the Tootsie Roll Drive Campaign for many years to raise funds for people with disabilities. VNU was one of three organizations to receive funds from this year’s fundraiser.
Douglas Perry talked about how the Tootsie Roll Drive Campaign is popular and everyone around the community looks forward to the Tootsie Roll Drive. The Knights handed out over 1,100 Tootsie Rolls this year during their campaign. Perry said, “The Knight of Columbus like seeing the money they raise go back into the Sheldon Community”. Village CEO, Barry Whitsell, said, “We are grateful for the generous support we receive from the Knights of Columbus and how this campaign is specifically designed to benefit people with an intellectual disability. The Knights of Columbus have seen over the years how their donations have benefited the people served at VNU and so they see first-hand how their work improves the lives of those people supported at VNU”.
Douglas Perry and Tim Dagel representing the Knights of Columbus presented the check to Barry Whitsell, CEO of VNU. The check of $417.00 will be used for upcoming development projects for VNU residents.
The contributions received is another way to strive towards the VNU mission of Purpose, Privacy and Dignity for all individuals.
