Century Mutual Insurance Association holds its 31st Annual Firemen’s Golf Benefit
On Wednesday, July 19 Century Mutual Insurance Association, a Northwest Iowa farm and residential insurance company, held its Annual Firemen’s Golf Benefit Tournament. This year’s event was held at the Primghar Golf & Country Club in Primghar. Century Mutual sponsors the event with all entry fees from the teams being distributed to the fire department of their choice.
Golf started at 9:30 a.m. with 94 golfers comprising 24 teams teeing off.
The annual event is an 18-hole tournament which is held to benefit the local area volunteer fire departments. This year’s event raised $5,590 for the local departments, which will be split among 13 local fire departments.
Sanborn Auto, Sanborn/Hartley Funeral Homes, Sanborn Savings Bank and Van-Hof Trucking all sponsored teams for the Sanborn Fire Department.
The winning team was sponsored by South O’Brien Insurance of Paullina with a score of 58 strokes. A putting contest, coffee, doughnuts, lunch, refreshments and prizes were also part of the day’s events.
