The family of Harriet and Ivan Van Veldhuizen had their annual Christmas gathering at the Vander Haag Museum at noon on Saturday, Dec. 16. Earlier several spent some time bowling at Locomotion Lanes. After the noon meal they spent time with singing, gifts, Bingo, and other games, and visiting until their evening meal. Present were Cathy and Doug Lyman of Livingston, TX, Lori, Taylor and friend Tate, Miley and Wayland Mason, and Mark Lyman, Justin and Emmett all of Webster City; Janet and Ken Brunsting of Hull, Julie, Carl, Micah and Sawyer Johnson of Doon, Heather Brunsting and friend Jon of Sioux Falls, Donna, John and Kim Farrell of Sanborn, Brad and friend Jessica Rylee and Bennett Farrell of Garretson, SD, Nancy, Ryan and Jake Van Dyke of Sanborn, and David Van Dyke and friend, Jen of Sioux Falls, Shari, Leah and Anna Pyle of Sioux Falls, and Matt Mayer of Spirit Lake. Unable to attend due to illness were Diane and Chad McKee and family of Sioux Falls, and some of the Mason family due to a wrestling meet; also Abby, Justin and Amelia Pritchard of Sturgis, SD. Aunt Jeane Van Veldhuizen from Prairie View Manor joined them for afternoon “snack time.”
An early Christmas was celebrated Saturday at the Jack and Carol Elgersma home. Those celebrating were Josh and Angie, Ashley and Blake Holz, Cody and Morgan Holz all of Larchwood, Austin Holz of Watertown, SD, Stacey, Roy and Nick Eeten of Sioux Falls, Alissa, Jeff, Chloe, Taylen, Ellie and Jase Holland of Buffalo Center, Brandi, Andy, Maci, Jack and Kennedy Wright, and Brent Elgersma of Sanborn.
Linda Rozeboom drove to Omaha Friday to visit in the Paul and Shelly Rozeboom home. On Saturday Mike, Bryce and Danielle Rozeboom of Sioux Falls, and the Omaha great-grandkids came. The family Christmas was celebrated Saturday afternoon and evening. Linda returned home on Sunday.
Friday supper guests in the Jim and Becky Suckow home were Ron and Audrey Schott, and Shawn and CJ Schroeder.
