Five youths from St. John’s Lutheran Church are attending an LYC retreat at Walther League Camp, Okoboji this week. They are Kathy Kayser, Kris Hakeman, Matt Warnke, Doug Brown and Lonnie Holz.
Saturday was the day for the cash awards totaling $575 given away by 21 Sanborn businesses. Esther Gibbs received $100; Mrs. Glen Pry $200; Linda Rozeboom $75; Gene Pry $50; Nellie Scholten and Marlene Zevenbergen each $25. There were 10 winners of the Shoppers Bonuses of $10 each. Santa drew the names of all the winners.

This was the Christmas Greeting issue. There were 54 businesses providing greetings 25 years ago.
On Wednesday evening, Dec. 16 a large group of Cornerstone Church members came to shivaree Richard and Lavonne Balt on their marriage in September.
