Tyce Hanson competed at last week’s State Wrestling Tournament held at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Wrestling at 126 pounds in Class 2A, Hanson went 2-2 to finish 26-6 on the season.
Hanson won his first match 13-5 over West Delaware’s Kooper Waugh. In Round 2 the Okoboji senior lost by technical fall (16-0) to Landen Davis of Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in 5:23. That moved Hanson into Round 2 of the consolations where he pinned Josh Hoffman of Sheldon/South O’Brien in just 56 seconds. Hanson’s tournament ended in Round 3 where he lost 15-5 to Andon Barrick of Iowa Falls-Alden.
