Miles Chesney was perfect in his five innings on the mound as OABCIG defeated Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn 10-0 in the season-opener for both teams. The junior struck out 10 in the game played May 13 at Ida Grove.
The Hawk starter, Jack Mastbergen, recorded six strikeouts but allowed all 10 runs on 13 hits. Five of the runs were earned. He issued two walks and hit a batter. Aiden Bush came on to face the final two batters and allowed one hit.
