HMS blanked by Remsen St. Mary’s
Fifth-ranked Remsen St. Mary’s scored four runs in three of their four innings and defeated Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn 12-0. The War Eagle Conference game was played June 10 at Hartley.
A third inning double by Addy Sheeler was the only hit for HMS. Gracie Knobloch drew a walk in the fourth inning and Eliza Tewes reached base on a fielder’s choice.
Knobloch’s four innings in the pitcher’s circle included 13 hits, one walk and three strikeouts. Ten of the 12 runs were earned. HMS committed four errors.
“Girls continue to struggle with bats and defense,” said HMS coach Stephanie Bronstad. “Gracie pitched a decent game but we continue to not work together as a team defensively.”
