Friday night a Rededication Ceremony was held before the varsity games at the HMS baseball and softball fields.
Athletic Director Mark Petersen spoke at the Ceremony, saying “In 2023, the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Schools embarked on a significant project to update our baseball/softball facility. Upgrades included: new dugouts, new scoreboards, construction of new batting cages, construction of baseball bleachers and press box, new fencing around the baseball field, construction of home and visitor bullpen areas, new audio equipment for both fields, and sidewalks to all bleacher areas of the complex. We would like to take this opportunity to thank several individuals and groups for their work and dedication to this project.
“The HMS School board: Members include Scott Vollink, Kyle McCarter, Chad Lyman, Becky Stoltz, and Kari Van Es, HMS Athletic Booster Club, HMS PIE, HMS Music Boosters, P & S Electric, and many other contractors involved in the completion of this project.
“HMS would also like to thank the community, parents, and students for their continued support! It is also wonderful to see all the youth in attendance tonight. We look forward to their growth athletically and academically at HMS! Welcome to the Park and have a great evening! We hope you enjoy our new facilities and we thank everyone involved with bringing this project to completion.”
