Announcement is made in the Pioneer that Vern Norton has sold his insurance agency effective July 1 to Rensink & Youngers Agency.
Cornerstone Laying services were held Tuesday evening, July 9 at the Christian Reformed Church in Sanborn.
At a meeting of the Sanborn School Board Monday night, the board acted on the resignation of Coach Don Davis….his reason for resigning is that he plans to work for Prins Insurance.
The Block family held a reunion July 4 at the Leo Tonner farm near Sergeant Bluff. Ninety-four relatives attended.
Miss Darla Vos was honored at three showers recently….Darla will become the bride of Randy Brown on July 12.

Ronald Porth has purchased the repair business and building from Donald Anderson effective July 10 and is open for business as Ron’s Repair.
At their annual meeting last week Hull Western Christian board voted against including football as a competitive sport at the high school.
Geraldine McCarty of rural Sanborn was commissioned as Army First Lieutenant upon graduation from Walter Reed Army Institute of Nursing at Washington, D.C.

Funeral services were held July 1 for Dr. Lloyd J. Sweeney at Sioux Falls, SD….Dr. Sweeney died July 29 at the age of 81. He began a private medical practice in Sanborn in 1946 and continued here for 20 years.

A large crew of volunteers brought bowling lanes into Bowl-Mor last Thursday. The lanes came from the Hartley bowling alley.
The Prairie View Auxiliary is sponsoring an ice cream social on July 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Prairie View Manor garage.
