In honor of Fire Prevention Week, Farmers Mutual Insurance of Hull provided a $1,500 grant to the Sanborn Fire Department. The grant was made possible by a nomination from Prins Insurance.
Presenting the check to Sanborn Fire Chief Randy Lyman is Leilla Reitsma of Prins Insurance. On the far left, also representing the Fire Department, is Cody Stange. Other Prins Insurance team members pictured are Jenna Boyd and Bruce Mosier.
Lyman thanked Prins Insurance and said the money will be used to help finish the Department’s new confined space and grain bin rescue trailer. Explained Lyman, “AMPI donated some equipment for use in confined space rescue and we have had different equipment for grain bin rescue and with the trailer we have all the equipment in one spot. Also on the trailer we have air tanks to fill our air packs at the scene of large fires.”
Farmers Mutual Insurance and Prins Insurance recognize the importance of the volunteer fire departments in the area and want to support them. They feel this grant is a way of showing that support.
