Bill Smith, with 23 years experience as a meat cutter and locker operator, began working at Sanborn Foods, Inc. this week as retail meat operator…he fills the vacancy of Bob Anema who was inducted into the military service on January 18.
At the land auction sale held January 9 Wm. Bousema bought the 160 acre farm located one half mile east and one half mile north of Sanborn.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm Faas observed their 60th wedding anniversary on January 27. They are the parents of Donald and Geneva (Mrs. Walter Close).
On Sun., January 31 from 2-4 p.m. The members of St. John’s Lutheran Church will hold an open house for the community and surrounding area.

Kids Express Daycare is offering singing Valentines as a fund raiser for the community daycare center.
Hunter Gene Kuehl, born at 4:53 a.m. at the Northwest Iowa Health Center is the First Baby of 1996 for the Sanborn area. His parents are Jeff and Becky Kuehl. Many gifts from Sanborn businesses await the baby and parents.
