March 2021! – In like a Lamb? Out like a Lion? I hope that’s not the case! These nice days we’ve been having makes me want Spring even more!
Unfortunately, our Annual Meeting is looking a little different this year but I am happy we are scheduled to have one! The past three years we have held our Annual Chili Cook-off, due to COVID and the Governor restrictions we decided to bypass the Chili Cook-off this year. Our 2021 Chamber Annual Meeting will be Thursday, March 4th with Social Hour beginning at 5 p.m. and our meeting beginning around 6 p.m. We have Jim Zeutenhorst – Sanborn City Administrator, Patrick Carlin – HMS Schools Superintendent and Dave Walling – AMPI District Manager all giving updates for the City, Public School Building Process and AMPI news. Rails will be serving Hors D’oeuves. Any and all are welcome. If you haven’t paid your dues yet you are welcome to bring them along to the Annual Meeting. Also, you do not have to be a business in order to be a member of the Chamber, we have a Basic Membership for Civic Members for $75.00.
Dates to remember:
Wednesday, March 10th at 12 p.m. (location to be determined), all are welcome to attend and we will be having our first 2021 Railroad Days Planning Meeting. If you want to attend you may contact Sally Smith by calling (712) 344-0627 on or after Monday, the 8th for information on location. Come share your thoughts and opinions regarding Railroad Days.
Sunday, March 14th is Daylight Savings, don’t forget to move your clocks ahead (Spring Forward).
Friday, March 26th beginning at 6 p.m. the HMS PIE Group is holding their Annual PIE Dodgeball Tournament.
Wednesday, April 7th the Sanborn Christian School Auxiliary will be having their Pancake Supper served by the Sanborn Fire Department from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Sanborn Christian School. Free will donation – proceeds to SCS Auxiliary.
